GUGU NAGOGO :: SCRIPT EDITOR

20min Short Film :: Tsvaga for ABC :: I had the great pleasure of working with writer/director Taku Mbudzi to script edit her film, one of four selected by the ABC and Screen Australia for their 2022 Kaleidoscope Project. Gugu naGogo explores intergenerational and cultural relationships through the eyes of 12 year-old astronomer Gugu, who’s desperate to find a way to reconnect with her beloved Gogo (grandmother) who lives in faraway Zimbabwe. Gugu naGogo has been selected to screen at the New York International Children’s Film Festival 2023.

11min Factual Entertainment Series for ABC Kids :: Meet Wes, Willow and Whyla – The Wonder Gang! This fantastic little show is an imaginative introduction to natural history for kids – and even features quokka puppets! Answering all those curly questions kids have about animals and the environment, it’s been an instant hit with kids, parents and educators alike.

1 hour Drama Series :: Playmaker Media for Nine :: Set in Sydney’s notorious Kings Cross in the early 70s, Love Child follows the young women forced by their families and society into giving up their babies for adoption at the fictional Stanton House, a home for unwed mothers. Featuring a killer soundtrack and stellar cast including Jess Marais, Mandy McElhinney and Miranda Tapsell, Love Child became the most popular drama series in the country with its heart-wrenching stories of women at a crossroads... Wendy also wrote ‘Livin’ In The 70s with Martha’, the program’s nostalgia fuelled web extension for 9Honey.

5 min Preschool Series ::  ABC Children’s & ABC Commercial for ABC Kids :: A spin-off series of ABC’s stupendously popular ‘Giggle & Hoot’ brand, Hoot, Hoot, Go! is all about friendship and teamwork. Whenever someone needs help, owl pals Hoot, Hootabelle and Hootly work together to fix the problem – hoot pow! In 2017, Wendy Hanna was nominated for an Australian Writer’s Guild Award for her Hoot, Hoot, Go! script, ‘Giggle Fangs is too good at Hoot and Seek’.

30′ documentary :: Produced by LaLa Pictures for ABC2 :: Developed with my dear friend, director Jay Court, this documentary premiered at the Cockatoo Island Film Festival.Dating the H*Bomb was made through the assistance of the Metro Screen Jumpstart Program, and developed and produced in association with the ABC and financed with the assistance of Screen Australia.
